Allen Brown has 40 years of professional experience in architecture, planning and design. Mr. Brown is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and is a Registered Architect in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico as well as a Registered Interior Designer in Oklahoma. He is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED© AP).
Allen’s activities are focused on unique civic and community projects. During his career, he has been responsible for numerous landmark and award-winning projects in Oklahoma including the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and Donald W. Reynolds Visual Arts Center, OSU Colvin Recreation Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma, OU Everest Training Center and the Scott Sabolich Prosthetics & Research Center. Recently, he served as Principal in Charge of the Myriad Botanical Gardens Renovation Building Projects, SandRidge Commons, Oklahoma State Fair Exposition Center and the OKC MAPS 3 Senior Health & Wellness Center 2 with FSB.
Mr. Brown serves as Chairman of the City of Oklahoma City Historic Preservation Commission and previously served as a member of the City of Oklahoma City Urban Design Commission and Treasurer for the City of Oklahoma City Housing Services Redevelopment Corporation. Allen is a member of Leadership Oklahoma City, Class XII, and Leadership Oklahoma, Class XXIII. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Boards of Directors for Creative Oklahoma, The First Tee of Oklahoma City, the Homeless Alliance and Allied Arts. Mr. Brown serves as Treasurer for Dale Rogers Training Center and Edgemere Park Preservation, Inc.
Mr. Brown is currently a Director of the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture. Over the years, Mr. Brown has served as President, Treasurer and Director of the American Institute of Architects, Central Oklahoma Chapter, and as Treasurer of the Oklahoma Council of Architects, the Oklahoma Foundation for Architecture and ARCPAC, Oklahoma Architects’ Political Action Committee. In the past, he co-authored the “Supplementary Education Handbook” for the AIA Press in Washington, D.C. Allen is also currently a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Oklahoma Museums Association.
